A short but great trip to Tokyo Japan!
This was my fourth visit to this wonderful city, full of culture tradition art music and wonderful people and great food! Even the 7/11 food can be delicious haha.
We played 6 shows in total which was two sets a night, the sound is always the best around so it is so easy to glide with your voice and have intimate moments with the crowd.
On this trip it was such a big pleasure to play with Rega Dauna for the first time who is one of the brightest shining stars, just 25 and full of talent, a killer harmonica player and a lovely lovely guy.
Then also getting the opportunity to play along side the great Graham Harvey (Original Citrus Sun/Incognito) and what a beautiful player he truly is, there is pure magic in his fingertips.
Me and hubby Francis Hylton were walking the streets of Tokyo when we met the legend that is Pharrell Williams, it was a brief encounter grabbing a photo and a few words, he was very cool. We also saw Anderson Paak in the audience along with his band.
We also bumped into the very lovely Valerie Etienne of Galliano, Citrus Sun ad Jamiroquai who was playing at The Billboard the same evening with Matt Johnson, a great singer and gorgeous lady also known as auntie Val to the hubz. My pal Ernie McKone also popped in back stage to say Hi!
The coolness of Tokyo! X
It is always a joy being with the Citrus Sun/Incognito family, its always fun warm and easy going. Here is Charlie Allen on guitar, hubby (bass) and of course the beautiful and music genius Bluey.
haha!
Francis took me to a great place called Gonpachi Nishi Azabu, where Quentin Tarantino's inspiration came from for the Kill Bill fight scene. Nice fodder!
Goodbye Tokyo till we meet again! X
